Mission Committee Minutes
October 21, 2013
Present: Dan Ennis,
Rebecca Lovelace, Mike Battle, Mike Roberts, Kevin Shea, Julie
Hearn, guest- Bill Warner
Rebecca opened the meeting.
The minutes for the Sept. meeting were reviewed, and upon motion of
Ennis/Shea were approved. In the absence
of treasurer Martha Smith, Rebecca reported a working balance of $37,000.00. For record keeping purposes it was agreed
that money collected for CAP be deposited and a check written for same to CAP.
Rebecca reported that $470 has been received in Memory of Jim
Vaught and recommended that the amount be used to help pay for funeral expenses
. Motion by Lovelace/Battle, voted and approved.
CAP is requesting a representative from St. Anne's to serve on
their Board of Directors.
CAP has received a donation of 50 turkeys for Thanksgiving, St. Anne's will purchase 50 cloth shopping
bags from Walmart to accompany the shopping list to be distributed to
parishioners wishing to help feed 50 families. The Mission Committee agreed to
appoint Bobby Smith to represent St. Anne’s on the CAP board.
Bill Warner reported that he had received aprox.30 responses to
the Christian Formation Survey. He will
submit a written report of the survey results at the 11/18 MC meeting.
He suggested a different approach to the Stewardship campaign with
emphasis on involvement , (time and talent). Dan suggested a theological
approach. It was agreed that rather than
ask for a pledge to suggest an estimate of gift amount to be given.
Cards will be printed to accompany a Stewardship letter, handed
out during Services beginning Nov. 3, (mail those not delivered) and collected on or before Nov. 24 .
R.Lovelace and D. Ennis will attend a meeting with the Bishop
10/26 in support of S.C. Episcopal worship groups.
The Myrtle Beach Episcopal group has asked for our continued
support with supply clergy through November.
The Mission Committee voted to continue to support the MB group at
$200/wk. They have moved to a new meeting space. Mike Roberts suggested we
explore a shared worship space for Myrtle Beach/Conway group in the futurer.
It has been requested that last names be included in the Prayer
List. Also small envelopes to be
provided at the back of the church for those wishing to make cash donations and
have the amount recorded. The need for a
training session for Altar Guild was discussed, Julie will contact Nelljean to
schedule a session for new members.
Dan provided a phone for St. Anne's to be kept by Laura Barr,
Parish Sec., which he included in his "family plan" @$9.95 month.

Julie suggesed that L.Barr inform LEM's of parrish needs.
Rebecca will follow up on the use of Palmetto Missionary Baptist
Church for worship on 11/10. Larry
Dickerson will be paid for the BBQ meat, members will provide the side dishes
for anniversary celebration following worship service at Lovelace home.
Dan closed the meeting with a prayer for the Mission of the
Church. Mtg. adjourned 7:15
